"Without desire there is tranquility. In this way all things would be at peace." -- Lao-Tzu "Yasha!" means "Viva!" or be immortal. On 1977 January 14th, I was born to live. For me, photography is more than a job and even more than a desire. It took me more than I thought to have a camera, although my father used to photograph too, and I used to play with a camera when I was a child. "Photography reveals reality of the past." says Roland Barthes. Therefore I may have lost so much of the past! Having no academic education in photography made me find the way by studying and practice, althought from time to time, I have benefited from master photographers and their experience. I believe people not only live but also behold by their thoughts. Therefore I have photographed (beheld) by mine. And the most important lesson I learned from my teachers was the way to observe life. The most interesting branch of photography for me is taking image of people. |

Mysterious souls of human beings impresses me beyond description. Discovering
people and their particular aspects by photography is one of the most special
things that could be done. I would like more to see the characters inside of
people through the visor of my camera and make my view of them everlasting -
instead of usual and designed poses, which people are used to make in front
of a camera. Yasha Vakili sometimes puts his camera aside, looks, walks, breathes and observes life without the camera, and then retries to record the moments of life through lenses. Photos of a photographer are his life's record, and I try to take the best photos to complete the record. |
